Behavioural Health Services
About Us
Human connection. Practical support. A way forward.
We bring together outreach, counselling, intervention, residential support and education to support marginalised young people through difficult circumstances.

Who We Are
Behavioural Health Services is a non-profit focused on the mental health and wellbeing of marginalised and exploited young people. Our work connects emotional support with the practical realities of safety, housing, learning and everyday life.
Our people bring experience in counselling, therapy, social work, behavioural intervention and outreach. Across community-based and remote services, the starting point is the same: listen to the person, understand their circumstances and build trust.
Our Mission
To help marginalised young people find safety, strengthen their mental health and move towards a more independent, connected life. We aim to make support approachable, respectful and responsive to the person behind the circumstances.
Our Values
Compassion
Meet distress with patience and kindness, without reducing someone to what they have experienced.
Respect
Listen to each person’s perspective and take their dignity, choices and aspirations seriously.
Inclusion
Recognise different identities, cultures and ways of learning, and the barriers that can make support harder to reach.
Trust
Value clear communication, professional boundaries and relationships that develop at a person’s own pace.
Collaboration
Bring together young people, families, carers and professionals where appropriate, rather than considering needs in isolation.
Learning
Stay curious, reflect on practice and remain open to what young people and colleagues can teach us.
Who We Support
Our programmes focus on young people facing overlapping challenges. A difficult housing situation, exploitation, trauma or a learning need may affect more than one part of life; our aim is to see that wider picture.
- Young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
- Young people affected by gangs, criminal exploitation or sexual exploitation.
- Young people living with the effects of complex trauma or addiction.
- Young people rebuilding their lives after incarceration.
- Marginalised young people with cognitive and learning needs.
How We Work
Different starting points. Connected support.
Outreach can begin with a conversation and an immediate practical need. Counselling creates space to understand distress. Intervention focuses on harmful situations, while residential support and tailored education help build routines, skills and belonging.

Behavioural Health Services describes its work through direct support programmes for young people. The Behavioural Health Institute focuses on behavioural health education, with fields of study including applied behaviour analysis, behavioural intervention and counselling psychology.
Our education page brings together the Institute’s programme information. Our team page introduces the people leading service provision and education, including the Executive Directors of BHS and BHI.
Our People
The work is carried by people: counsellors, therapists, coordinators, social workers, care aides and volunteers. Meet the leadership and programme coordinators, and find their individual contact details.
